Real Madrid seal their unparalleled 15th Champions League title, lifting the trophy at Wembley Stadium after beating Borussia Dortmund 2-0 after 90 minutes.
Dani Carvajal set Real Madrid on their way to Champions League glory, and Vinicius Jr sealed it, the duo grabbing a goal each as Los Blancos won yet another European Cup despite turning in a mostly tepid performance in their 2-0 victory over Borussia Dortmund at Wembley.
Dortmund had the first big chance of the game, as Karim Adeyemi rounded Thibaut Courtois – who was making his first Champions League start of the season – but could not force his shot in from a tight angle. The German side could have scored again shortly after, but Niclas Fullkrug poked an effort against the post.

Madrid, for their part, created little in the first half, and ended the opening 45 minutes without a shot on target. in the end, though, they only needed one chance as Carvajal drifted to the near post and met Toni Kroos’ corner in stride, nodding past Gregor Kobel to give Los Blancos a 1-0 lead with 20 minutes to play.
The game opened up soon after, and Madrid always looked like getting a second. Vinicius provided it, taking Jude Bellingham’s pass in stride and tucking an effort into the corner to seal Madrid’s 15th Champions League trophy.
Terzic’s side looked likelier to score for a large majority of the game, striking an impressive 11 shots, while testing Courtois four times and hitting the post early through Fullkrug.
Ancelotti’s side managed to emerge unscathed and took the lead themselves with 16 minutes to go, with Kroos providing the assist for Carvajal’s header from a corner. Bellingham and Vinicius capitalised on Maatsen’s giveaway nine minutes later to double the advantage, but Fullkrug’s header 120 seconds ahead of stoppage time looked to give Dortmund late hope.
It was not to be, however, as an offside decision would deny the striker – and any chance they had at a second European Cup. Kroos retires from the club game with six Champions League titles, equalling Paco Gento, while Ancelotti wins his fifth as a coach.
Real Madrid have won the European Cup/UEFA Champions League for the 15th time in their history, which is now more than twice as many times as any other club (Milan with the next-most on 7).

Carlo Ancelotti has won the European Cup/UEFA Champions League more times than any other manager (5), with three of those coming in charge of Real Madrid. This is also the joint-most for a manager in charge of a specific team, along with Bob Paisley at Liverpool (3) and Zinedine Zidane, also at Real Madrid (3).
Borussia Dortmund have only won one of their last five finals in major European competition (3-1 v Juventus in the 1997 UEFA Champions League), and have now lost each of their last three in a row (v Feyenoord in 2002, FC Bayern München in 2013 and Real Madrid in 2024).
